Three voltages — 5 V, 9 V, and 12 V — selected via a physical switch on the unit. The corresponding maximum currents are 4 A, 2.22 A, and 1.67 A respectively, all within the 20 W power envelope.
NoElko means the converter contains no electrolytic capacitors. Electrolytic capacitors are the primary wear component in most switching supplies; removing them eliminates the main ageing mechanism and allows the HDR20-5-12 to operate reliably over a much longer service life than conventional designs.
50–60 mW at 5 V output, 230 V input. The datasheet's <50 mW headline applies specifically to the 5 V setting; at higher output voltages standby rises slightly (Figure 5 shows ~56 mW at 9 V and ~68 mW at 12 V). All settings stay well below 1 W.
Yes — the output survives an indefinite short circuit without damage. An overtemperature shutdown mechanism activates during short-circuit conditions; once the fault is cleared and the device cools, it resumes normal operation without manual intervention.
The operating input range is 207 V to 253 V AC at 49–61 Hz. This covers the full tolerance band of 230 V European mains (EN 50160) but does not extend to 110 V grids; the HDR20-5-12 is not suitable for North American voltage systems without a step-up transformer.
Active discharge through a 10 Ω high-power resistor across the output. The discharge dissipates excess energy under overvoltage conditions instead of relying on passive clamping, protecting downstream loads during transient overvoltage events.
17.6 mm wide × 106 mm long × 60 mm high — one modular DIN-rail unit. The product subtitle calls this an 18 mm DIN-rail width; the mechanical specification is 17.6 mm. Household-installation-box style clip, no tools needed.
