Setpoints are written to Modbus holding registers via RS485 (registers 0–41 cover Uset, Iset, PID gains, UVLO thresholds, Modbus ID and baud rate). The published datasheet does not explicitly document a separate "save to flash" command — the factory-programmable default output voltage is burned at the factory, but the persistence behaviour of subsequent register writes across a power cycle is not specified in the public datasheet. Contact DPS for the latest firmware documentation if your application depends on persistence.
Yes — a configuration tool is available on request. Contact DPS for the latest version of the DCP48M programming tool and the required USB/serial adapter.
Programmable 0–29 V (spec table max) / 0–30 V (feature summary headline), hard-capped at 0.9 × V_in by the non-isolated buck topology — output is always below input. Current 0–8 A peak. Recommended continuous power 30–100 W; overtemperature triggers thermal shutdown with auto-restart.
Green = constant-voltage mode (OK). Yellow = constant-current mode (OK). Purple = input below UVLO. Blue = overtemperature shutdown engaged. Red = control loop out of range. The LED is internal and not visible to the user without opening the case.
Yes — paralleling is supported, but only via an output diode on each OUT+ pin. Paralleling without diodes destabilises the control loop and is explicitly prohibited. Matching diode modules are available from DPS. Only identical order codes may be paralleled — mixing 12 V and 24 V default variants is not supported. Paralleling also provides redundancy alongside higher current.
Modbus RTU over RS485. Default 9600 baud, 8N1, device ID = 1. Both baud rate (registers 38–39) and device ID (registers 40–41) are writable holding registers — field-reconfigurable without returning the unit. Supported function codes: 3 (Read Holding), 6 (Write Single), 16 (Write Multiple).
Input range 8–50 V DC. UVLO disables the converter below the programmed threshold (default: off at 7 V, re-enable at 8 V) and turns the LED purple; both thresholds are independently programmable via registers 32–35. The device restarts automatically once input recovers above the re-enable threshold — no manual intervention needed.
Yes — DPS customises default output voltage, factory-programmed UVLO thresholds, Modbus default ID, and current limit presets for production volumes. An engineering fee applies; contact DPS to scope your variant.
