Product Description

The USB-AC-PD is 230Vac power supply for DIN RAIL control cabinets. It delivers 5V/3A, 9V/2.22A and 12V/1.67A. It’s intended use are tight control cabinets with AC Inputs, to supply USB-C-PD devices, such as laptops, embeded computer, tablets or smart meter gateways with electrical energy. The device is resilient to typical operating failures: Input transient protection, output short circuit, open circuit, moderate input transients and moderate output transients. The device is designed for long-livity by not using electrolytic capaitors. A green power led indicates stable operation. The device may be operated at ambient temperatures between -40°C and 50°C. Derating might be required.

Three USB-PD levels: 5 V / 3 A (15 W), 9 V / 2.22 A (20 W), 12 V / 1.67 A (20 W). Total USB-C output is capped at 20 W. The datasheet doesn't specify the PDO advertisement mechanism — contact DPS for PD negotiation details.

207–253 V AC at 49–61 Hz, covering nominal 230 V ±10 %. Behaviour outside this window is not specified by the datasheet.

No — the output returns to the 5 V default whenever no device is connected. PD negotiation only elevates the voltage after a successful handshake, so an unloaded or non-PD device sees 5 V, not 9 V or 12 V.

Yes — short-circuit proof indefinitely. The datasheet states the output can withstand a short circuit indefinitely without adverse effects, and an overtemperature shutdown (70–80 °C) engages during sustained shorts. Recovery behaviour after a thermal trip is not specified — contact DPS to confirm whether a power cycle is needed.

An active transistor clamp limits the USB-C output to 12 V. The AC input is additionally protected by a metal-oxide varistor (MOV) against mains-side overvoltage transients.

No electrolytic capacitors anywhere — the dominant wear-out component in switched-mode supplies is eliminated, supporting long service life. Operating range is -40 °C to +50 °C; the datasheet notes derating may still be required at temperature extremes.

One modular unit, 17.6 mm wide. Mounting dimensions: 17.6 mm width × 106 mm length × 60 mm height, designed for Household Installation Box mounting. The product subtitle says "18 mm DIN rail width"; the mechanical specification is 17.6 mm.

Yes — DPS customises output voltage profiles, PD PDO sets, and auxiliary output parameters for production volumes. An engineering fee applies; contact DPS to scope your variant.
