Materials Required
- Raspberry Pi:
- Any model is suitable; for this demonstration, we will use the Raspberry Pi 5.
- USB-AC-PD Power Supply
- USB-C Cable
- DIN Rail Control Cabinet / Project Box
- Power Cord
Step 1: Install the Cable to the Project Box

- Install the cable into the control cabinet box.
- Advice:
- Use a cable gland to ensure strain relief.
- Utilize crimp terminals with stranded wire for secure connections.
Step 2: Connect the Power Supply Cables

- Connect the cable to the three-pin pluggable system terminal of the power supply. This terminal can easily be unplugged for simplified installation.
- Use a small flat-head screwdriver to loosen the clamps. If your crimp terminals are too large, consider using slip joint pliers, as shown in the image.
- If you have a ground connector, you can optionally connect it to the middle pin of the connector, although it can remain unconnected without issues.
- Mount the power supply onto the DIN rail and reconnect the three-pin pluggable system terminal.
Step 3: Mount the Raspberry Pi to the DIN Rail

- Mount the Raspberry Pi using DIN rail mounts, which can be 3D printed or sourced from professional manufacturers.
- Use a USB cable to provide power to the Raspberry Pi.
- Close the lid with a screwdriver and you're ready to go!
Power Supply Capabilities
The USB-AC-PD Power Supply can provide an output current of 5V at 3A. The Raspberry Pi 5 limits the maximal USB power load, but as most control cabinet devices are not required to do so, the warning message from the Raspberry Pi 5 can be ignored.
